New Delhi: Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani today said that more than 21 women have been rewarded in the 65th National Film Awards, which is making them feel proud. Among the recipients of the National Award, Rima Das was honored for the Assam film 'Village Rockstar' today.

In his speech, the Union Minister said, "I am proud that we honored more than 21 women, including Rima Das on this forum. Das has brought a simple story of Assam on the screen, which has hoisted the parcham not only in the country but also abroad.
He said, "I want to assure you all that as we have given special attention to regional cinema this year, it will continue to promote India's diversity through its films in the coming years.
In his address, Irani remembered the late actor Vinod Khanna and Abhinetri Sridevi.
