Sidharth Malhotra to play thug in his next project on groom-kidnapping

Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra is reuniting with his Ek Villain team for a different movie. Sidharth will collaborate with Ekta Kapoor's production house and actress Shraddha Kapoor for a film reportedly titled Shotgun Shaadi.
The story of the film is weaved around groom-kidnapping in Bihar. In the North Indian state, suitable boys are kidnapped by girl' family with the help of local goons. This is done in order to evade dowry. A source close to the project told DNA, ''It’s an extremely edgy movie with Sidharth playing a unique character. It is called Shotgun Shaadi because it is primarily about the groom-kidnapping that is quite prevalent in Bihar.” For a long time, such incidents have been prevalent in the North Indian state, where the girl’s family hires local goons to kidnap suitable grooms for their daughters, essentially to avoid dowry.'' Sidharth is playing a thug and Shraddha will be essaying his love interest. Sidharth's character abducts potential grooms and gets them married forcefully. The Aiyaary actor has already started taking classes to master the Bihari diction.
Meanwhile, Sidharth was last seen in Aiyaary by Neeraj Pandey. The actor played the role of a military officer in the flick. On the other hand, Shraddha's last box office release was Haseena Parkar, which failed to impress audience and critics.
