New Delhi: Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the famous filmmaker who started his career as an assistant director in Bollywood, is celebrating his 55th birthday today. Bhansali, famous for his magnificence in films, was born on February 24, 1963 in a small Chawl of Mumbai. Bhosali's father D.O. Bhansali was a film producer. Bhansali wanted to make a name in the world of films since childhood, so he also made a filmmaking course from the film from the famous film and television institute of India and stepped into the film world.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who has been in controversy over 'Padmavat' since last year, is not only a good director but also a film producer, screenwriter and music director. Bhansali is also known for his excellent music in films. He also made the music of the finest and memorable film like 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', 'Guzaarish', 'Gulis Ki Ras Leela Ram-Leela', 'Bajirao Mastani' and 'Padmavat'. It is said that he prepares the music of the film before the film.

Was put such a step in Bollywood

After doing a filmmaking course from FTII, Sanjay Leela Bhansali started working with director Vidhu Vinod Chopra. He worked as Assistant Director in the film Parinda (1989) and '1942: A Love Story' (1994). Later Sanjay and Vidhu got separated when they refused to direct the film 'close'.

After two years of separation (1996), Sanjay made his debut film 'Khamoshi: The Musical' as director. In this film, Nana Patekar, Salman Khan and Manisha Koirala were seen in the main character. Sanjay's debut film did not show anything special at the box office, but critics praised the film very much. It won seven nominations in the Filmfare, in which it also won the title of five. The special thing is that Sanjay's debut film as director has won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Film.

• ' Devdas'  controversy - There was a lot of controversy about the song 'Dola Ray Dola', one of the most successful films of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Devdas'. In fact, Chandramukhi and Paro did not meet in the novel that was based on the film, but Aishwarya and Madhuri did dance together in the song of the film. There was a controversy over this.

• ' Guzarish' controversy -  Salman Khan made a comment on Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai starrer 'Guzaarish', which was released in 2010, which has caused much controversy. Apart from this, the filmmakers were also accused of stealing a story.

• ' Padmavat' controversy -  Sanjay Leela Bhansali's most controversial film, recent release 'Padmavat' The film had to face opposition from the days of shooting. Earlier, Bhansali was beaten up in Rajasthan and the film set was broken. The huff was started after the film's trailer was released later. Opponents accused Bhansali of ruining the dignity of Chitwad and Rani Padmavati from history. Its opposition reached the extent that the actress Deepika got threatened to cut her neck. Sanjay Leela got the threat of killing him. After all these difficulties, the film got together with the Supreme Court and it was released on the big screen. The film was released, but due to the pressure of the opponents of its makers, the film's name was changed to 'Padmavat' by the name of the censor board 'Padmavati'.
